Week 5 Assignment 2 – Blog posts

Your final project blog goes live this week.  You need to make at least two posts to your final project blog by next week’s class (DO NOT make them both next Monday morning!).  There is no length requirement, but they should be thoughtful entries that are appropriate to the content focus you’ve planned for your site.  If you need some inspiration, Lorelle on WordPress and ProBlogger are good sources.  Check out the following posts:

These are also smart posts to read before you launch your site this week:

If you’re doing a portfolio for your final project, then you can post portfolio items in place of one or both of your blog entries.

Each post is worth 3 points out of the 50 total for your final project.

PS – Give some thought to the Categories and/or Tags you use on your posts.  You’ll be establishing a precedent for your blog, so come up with a system you think you’ll want to keep using.

  1. Good tips. I also recommend Writing Effective, Attention-Getting Headlines and Titles on Your Blog and Creating Effective, Attention-Getting Headlines and Titles for more on titles, and Tags and Tagging in WordPress and the article series on Blog Post Category Trauma to help with categories and tags.

The most important thing students need to learn about tags and categories is that categories are a blog’s table of contents and tags are it’s index words. Good luck!

  2. […] Thanks to Prof. Lambert and AU. […]
